can’nt believe it, met Wheels in France in the 60’s in Biarritz where he went for surfing. I’m myself the first french champion for girls. I was then about 18′ and now 72′ !!! I stopped surfing some 10 years ago!!! so funny to find this picture by chance!!! Wheels wazs a really boy and very appreciated by the then very small Biarritz community…
That was a great summer in 1965 living in Villa Tam Tam. I remember you showing no fear in some pretty heavy Guethary surf! Wheels kept us young ones in line and was a gentleman, as well as a great waterman.
Dang!! I worked with Wheels at Glass Research in Jacksonville Florida in the late 1960’s. What a great crew we had.
Hung around and partied with Wheels in the ‘60’. He was a really nice and guy. Have never forgotten and think about him often. Great photo, thanks!
